LEADING WITHOUT ARMOR™ WORKING PAPER SERIES

Exploring Leadership, Trust, and Organizational Culture in High-Pressure Institutions

The Leading Without Armor™ Working Paper Series is an ongoing collection of conceptual scholarship examining how leadership behavior shapes trust, psychological safety, accountability, employee voice, organizational learning, culture, and performance.

Developed by Rashida Saunders, the series bridges leadership scholarship with the realities of high-pressure and mission-driven organizations.

ABOUT THE SERIES

High-pressure institutions often depend on cultures of strength, control, endurance, and emotional restraint.

These environments can produce extraordinary performance. They can also make it difficult for people to admit mistakes, ask for help, challenge decisions, or speak openly about risk.

The Leading Without Armor™ Working Paper Series examines these tensions and explores a central question:

How can leaders maintain high standards while creating cultures where people can speak, learn, adapt, and remain human?

Each paper develops a distinct dimension of this broader research agenda.

**Individual working papers will be available soon.
